
UCMed, SVGH Join Mobile Blood Donation Drive
The University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed) and St. Vincent General Hospital (SVGH) joined the University of Cebu (UC) Banilad school organizations in conducting the “Panag-ambit: One Community, One Blood” Mobile Blood Donation Program at the Multi-purpose Gym, Apas, Cebu City last June 18.
This event aims to promote voluntary blood donation and to inculcate public awareness that blood donation is a humanitarian act.
University of Cebu-Banilad College of Medical Technology Intern Government, and volunteers from the nursing and medical technology department of the University of Cebu-Community Awareness, Relation, and Extension Services (UC CARES) spearheaded the blood donation of the 30 volunteers.

This activity was in partnership with the barangay Apas local government unit along with their barangay health workers (BHW) who provided the accommodation and the venue.
The mobile blood donation program is UCMed and SVGH’s commitment to the fulfillment of Republic Act 7719 or the National Blood Services Act of 1994 that encourages private hospitals to establish voluntary blood donation programs.
