Strengthened in Service, United as One: UCMed Celebrates Allied Health Week
The University of Cebu Medical Center (UCMed) shines a spotlight on the team behind quality patient care as it celebrates Allied Health Professional Services Week on September 17–18, 2025. With the theme “Strengthened at All Times, United with One Goal: With Allied and Ancillary Hands, We Serve One UCMed,” this year’s celebration highlights the vital role of allied and ancillary professionals in delivering compassionate, reliable, and world-class healthcare.
The celebration opens on September 17 with a Holy Mass. A simple yet meaningful gathering that unites allied health professionals and staff.
By the following day, September 18, the UCMed lobby transforms into a lively and festive space. The event was graced with the presence of UCMed’s Medical Director, Dr. Armando Tan, reminding everyone that allied health professionals are not merely support staff but indispensable partners in the hospital’s mission in his welcome remarks.
A symbolic banner dropping with the allied heads follows, officially marking the start of the week’s festivities. The morning concludes with the opening of interactive booths and a thrilling raffle draw, adding energy and excitement to the celebration.
The third day festivities feature the PRC Caravan and a forum that holds special significance for UCMed’s allied health staff, as it provides meaningful discussions and new insights that directly impact their profession and practice.
The program was opened by Mr. Aurelio Dizon, Assistant Hospital Administrator, who commended the dedication of allied health workers. Guest speakers provided timely and useful insights: Ms. Rezalyn Maputol from PRC Region VII gave updates on CPDAS, Dr. Francis Paolo Daclan discussed patient safety for newborns and children, and Ms. Angelica Faye Dela Victoria, PTRP, talked about proper body mechanics.

The event was concluded by Mr. Ronniel Dayaday, Director of Allied Health Professional Services, expressing his gratitude to the allied health team and emphasizing how their unity and service reflect this year’s theme.
This year’s Allied Health Week served as a reminder that while doctors and nurses are often at the forefront, healthcare is never complete without the allied professionals working diligently behind the scenes. With their skills, compassion, and teamwork, they embody UCMed’s vision of serving with one heart and one goal.
